What is telehealth?
Telehealth is the use of telecommunications or videoconferencing technology to provide mental health services. Telehealth is a safe and convenient option for getting mental behavioral health care at home. You may be able to attend appointments without needing transportation, taking time off work, or arranging for childcare. Receiving services in this way decreases strain on the healthcare system, helps patients with limited mobility, and delivers cost saving treatment. Telehealth expedites timely care and allows our therapists to support more people through a clinically effective platform.
What is therapy?
Therapy can mean different things for different people. It can help address a range of problems from mild distress to severe mental illness. Some people come in without having any pressing or urgent concerns. Therapy can provide you with the tools you need to better understand your feelings or emotions, cope with stressful situations, create deeper intimacy with others, increase self-love and empowerment, and ultimately improve your quality of life.
How do I choose the right therapist?
Finding a therapist is important. Sometimes it can take time to find the right fit for your specific needs. A brief consultation call with your prospective therapist will help determine if they’re a good fit for you.
How do I get started?
We are ready and willing to connect with you! Please send us a brief message using the contact form or reach out to us at contact@myembodiedmind.com. Afterward, we will send you the initial information & client questionnaire. If you decide to proceed, we will provide a free initial consultation call to discuss your needs.
What happens in a
consultation call?
Typically therapists offer a brief, initial consultation call to give you an opportunity to see if they are the right match for you prior to scheduling a session. The call may be up to 15-20 minutes, depending on your therapist. Use this call to ask your potential therapist questions and allow them to get a sense of who you are, what your goals are, and what you are struggling with. Discuss fees and other logistical information such as scheduling and location. If you have any hesitations about starting therapy in general, don’t be afraid to be open about that as well. Your potential therapist can address any doubts and help put your mind at ease.
What happens in an
initial therapy session?
How your initial therapy session goes depends on your therapist, your goals, and the modality the therapist is using. Typically, therapists will use your first session to gather your history, and explore your struggles, and establish your treatment goals. Your therapist will meet you wherever you are on your journey and will respect your level of comfort in sharing personal issues right off the bat.
How long is a typical
therapy session?
Therapy session times vary. Sessions are usually between 30-50 minutes.
What if my presenting concern
isn’t listed in your specialty areas?
That's completely okay! We have clinical experience with many issues outside of those listed.
How much does therapy cost?
We strive to accommodate everyone's unique financial needs. Therapy fees vary from provider to provider. When you fill out the questionnaire form, you can select the fee range that is comfortable for you and we will assign you to a therapist who offers rates within your desired fee range.
